Communication with school:

Communicating well with our families is important to all the staff in Llandaff City. Parents and Carers wishing to speak with class teachers must request this via the school office. To ensure teachers can appropriately supervise their classes, we ask that parents do not distract staff from their supervision by trying to discuss matters / pass on messages at collection and drop off times. The school office staff are happy to take messages and for those on the lower school yard a member of staff holding a clipboard can also take messages in the morning.

Messages should not be sent via Goggle Classroom or Seesaw unless pupils are undertaking Home Learning.

Messages received outside the school working day will not be addressed until the next school day.

Staff will usually contact parents / carers on the day a message is received, but due to job share arrangements and staff responsibilities such as duties, after school meetings and clubs along with their general teaching commitment, parents and carers must allow up to 3 working days for contact to be made. Where a matter is urgent – please make this clear to those taking the message or ask to speak to the Headteacher or another member of senior leadership team.

Where the Headteacher receives messages, she will endeavour to respond within 24 hours. However, where the matter requires investigation, parents / carers will be advised that additional time will be needed.

If a matter is of a Safeguarding nature please make this clear in your initial communication. The Headteacher or Deputy Headteacher will then prioritise making contact.

Letters from school will be sent to the number one contact provided by parents to the school.
