Llandaff City Eco Team
We have a fantastic Eco team at Llandaff City CIW School, which is composed of representatives from year 2 to year 6. These children put themselves forward because they are passionate about sustainability, our environment and reducing waste. The children are active, keen and determined to make a difference. They take ownership, running meetings, leading initiatives and inspiring others to do their bit for our community and our planet. Even with Covid restrictions in place, the children have continued to work hard to keep the Eco team evolving by creating videos to share with the wider school and sharing key messages on a regular basis.
Each year the team work together using data they have collated from audits, ideas from the school community and interests of pupils to establish a plan of action for the following year. Past projects have included annual events such as Waste Week, Switch off Fortnight, World toilet day and regular litter picks!
This year we look forward to developing our outdoor learning space, creating welcoming habitats for hedgehogs and reducing food waste and litter around our school area.
